Actress Uduak Akrah reportedly dies after slipping in the bathroom
It seems to be a bad time for the Nigerian movie industry. In the past few months, Nollywood have had the cause to mourn one talented actor or another. This is really sad. Another promising young actress Uduak Akrah has been reported dead. According to some of her colleagues, they disclosed that Uduak died on Saturday, August 25, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba area of Lagos. Her colleagues disclosed that the talented actress died after a fatal fall in her bathroom. It was added that the deceased sustained injuries from the fall. Popular filmmaker Charles Novia disclosed that: “I just heard from someone close to her and her family in Abuja. She suffered complications in the past few months from a nasty fall in the bathroom.” It was further disclosed that the Abuja-based actress have been ill for a while due to the fatal fall in her bathroom and when she was eventually brought to LUTH, Akrah was pronounced dead on arrival. According to some of her colleagues, late Akrah was described as a multi-talented entertainer both on stage and on the screen. She was a creative art graduate from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). She was also a singer and an event planner.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the Nigerian movie industry recently mourned the death of veteran actor Chike Osuji. The Imo-based actor succumbed to the cold hands of death in Owerri, the Imo state capital. He was aged 65.
Man United players believe Jose Mourinho's future hangs on Burnley clash
Red Devils' boss Mourinho risks being sacked should his side lose to Burnley on Sunday. United will hope to get their title chase back on track to winning ways when they travel to the Turf Moor this weekend. They were handed a disappointing defeat at the Theatre of Dreams earlier this week as the Portuguese tactician is under pressure to deliver. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is under immense pressure to return to winning ways following his side's disappointing defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford over the weekend. Goals from Lucas Moura and Harry Kane put the Red Devils to the sword in front of their home fans on Monday night. According to statistics, the defeat was United's heaviest home defeat since 2004, and some of the club's players believe the Portuguese tactician might be shown the exit door if he fails to get the result against Burnley this weekend.
After suffering their second defeat to the start of the 2018-19 EPL season, both Mourinho and United chief Ed Woodward had a meeting over the performance of the team. And it was assumed that sacking the former Chelsea and Real Madrid handler was part of the agenda of the meeting if the poor run of results continue. Man United tasted their first defeat of the season at Brighton & Hove Albion before being hammered by Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs.

Daily mail reports that the days of Jose Mourinho at the Threatre of Dream might be counting down already as the players are now talking about the possibility of Zinedine Zidane becoming the new manager. "They are saying Jose will be gone soon," a source told Sportsmail on Tuesday night. "Some think he’ll be out if they lose at Burnley. Others can’t see him lasting beyond September. "We’ve seen this before and it just feels the same. The club will say it’s supporting Jose but we all saw what happened with Louis. The players are already talking about the possibility of Zidane coming in."

Ex-CIA agent confesses, reveals the gift he gave Bob Marley led to his death
It is well known that late iconic musician Bob Marley died on May 11, 1981 from complications traced to cancer. In July 1977, Marley was found to have a type of malignant melanoma under the nail of a toe. Contrary to urban legend, this lesion was not primarily caused by an injury during a football match that year, but was instead a symptom of the already-existing cancer. The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death. His final words to his son Ziggy were "Money can't buy life," Wikipedia reports. But in a widely known conspiracy theory, an ex-CIA agent claimed to be responsible for Marley’s death. NAIJ.com has gone back in time to share the alleged words of this so called agent in this article. According to Snopes.com, 79-year-old Bill Oxley, who claims to have worked with America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) made this known on his deathbed. He died in 1985.

Oxley is alleged to have carried out the murder of Marley among 17 other assassinations for the American government between 1974 and 1985, at a time when he said the CIA “was a law unto itself.” He said he was often used as a hitman on targets deemed to “represent a threat to the interests of the United States.” Oxley further admitted he had no problem with proceeding with the Bob Marley assassination because “I was a patriot, I believed in the CIA, and I didn’t question the motivation of the agency – I’ve always understood that sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good.” Describing how he killed the reggae icon Oxley said he used faked press credentials to gain access to Bob Marley at his Blue Mountain retreat; introducing himself as a famous photographer working for the New York Times, and gave Bob Marley a gift. “I gave him a pair of Converse All Stars. Size 10. When he tried on the right shoe, he screamed out ‘OUUUCH.‘ “That was it. His life was over right there and then. The nail in the shoe was tainted with cancer viruses and bacteria. If it pierced his skin, which it did, it was goodnight nurse.” Mr. Oxley says he kept close contact with Marley during the final years of his life, ensuring the medical advice he received in Paris, London and the United States “would hasten his demise rather than cure him.”
“The last time I saw Bob before he died he had removed the dreadlocks, and his weight was dropping like a stone,” he says. “He was very withdrawn, unbelievably small. He was shrinking in front of us. The cancer had done it’s job.” Although widely dismissed as fiction, the account does tally with findings by UK scientists in 2014, who discovered the mysterious acral melanomas – the rare type of skin cancer that caused reggae musician’s demise – was in fact not caused by the sun. Bob Marley’s soon Ziggy has previously implied his Father was killed, saying in a 2013 interview about the death: “I don’t know what to believe … there are a lot of theories.”

Brief History of The University of Nigeria, Nsukka
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN for short, is a Federal University located in Nsukka; Enugu State, Nigeria founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960. It was the first full-fledged indigenous and first autonomous university in Nigeria, modeled upon the American educational system. It is the first land-grant university in Africa and one of the five elite universities in Nigeria.
A law to establish a University in
the Eastern Region of Nigeria was passed on the 18th of May, 1955 [6]. This date
marked the formal beginning of the history of UNN inspired by the then Premier
of the Eastern Region, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. One of the first steps taken by the
Eastern Government towards the implementation of its commitment was an
invitation to both the United States of America and the United Kingdom to send
advisers to help in the planning of physical and educational aspects of the
proposed university.
Under
the joint auspices of the Inter-University Council for Higher Education
Overseas and the International Co-operation Administration (now the United
States Agency for International Development), J.W. Cook, Vice-Chancellor of the
University of Exeter, Dr John A. Hannah, President of Michigan State University
and Dr Glen L. Taggart, Dean of International Programs at the same university,
came to Nigeria in 1958. The team surveyed the site at Nsukka and investigated
a great variety of factors pertinent to the establishment of a new university. The
results of their efforts were contained in a white paper issued by the Eastern
Nigeria Government on 30th of November 1958. They had recommended that the
development of the University of Nigeria based upon the concept of service to problems
and needs of Nigeria is a desirable project and one that should receive support
from any source which could help to make it a sound endeavor. The provisional
council authorized by the Eastern Nigeria Legislature was appointed by the Governor
in Council in April 1959 and given necessary financial and administrative powers
to build a university. It reflected the spirit of international co-operation
which gave birth to the institution. It consisted of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dr. T.
Olawale Elias and Dr. Okechukwu Ikejiani from the Federation of Nigeria, J.S.
Fulton from the United Kingdom, Dr. Marguerite Cartwright and Dr. Eldon Lee
Johnson from the United States of America. The University was formally opened
on the 7th of October 1960. Her Royal Highness, Princess Alexandra of Kent,
representing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Nigerian independence celebrations
performed the opening ceremonies and laid the foundation stone of one of the
University's early buildings. Classes began on the 17th of October 1960 with an
enrollment of 220 students and 13 members of the academic staff. The opening
convocation addresses were delivered by the Chairman of the Provisional
Council, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first President of the Federation of Nigeria,
and by Dr. John A. Hannah, President of Michigan State University, USA. The
university was fully autonomous, with the power to grant its own degrees. Technically
speaking, it became the first fully-fledged university in Nigeria, since Ibadan
was still at that time a university college granting London degrees. It also
became the first university established by a Nigerian Regional Government. The
University College Ibadan, the oldest university institution, cut its umbilical
cord with London in October 1962, becoming the University of Ibadan. In July
1965, it turned out the first graduates holding Ibadan rather than London degrees,
by which time Nsukka had produced two crops of graduates and taken all the
publicity for turning out the first graduates of an autonomous Nigerian
university [7]. Today, the university has 15 Faculties, 102 academic departments and offers 82 undergraduate programs and 211 postgraduate programs [5]. UNN also has four campuses- Nsukka
(University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN), Enugu (University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, UNEC), Ituku-Ozalla (University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH) and
Aba (University of Nigeria Aba Campus, UNAC). It celebrated its 50th
anniversary on October 2010.
